Melanie received her undergraduate degree in 1996 from Washington State University with a degree in Elementary Education.  Recently, she completed a master’s degree in literacy.  She has experience teaching kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. She loves helping struggling readers become confident readers. She has completed LETRS Training, and is Orton-Gillingham trained as well as several other science-based reading trainings– these have all focused on providing an explicit, systematic, and multisensory education to students. She loves yummy food and traveling, especially to the Bahamas, and often finds herself dreaming of white sand and turquoise water.
